Days Gone is
a post-apocalyptic action-adventure survival horror video game developed by SIE
Bend Studio and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. The game is set in
a world that has been ravaged by a global pandemic that has turned most of the
population into mindless, flesh-eating creatures known as "Freakers."
The story
follows Deacon St. John, a former outlaw-turned-drifter and bounty hunter who
is struggling to survive in this new world. Deacon is searching for a reason to
live and a way to escape the endless cycle of violence and death that surrounds
him. Along the way, he meets other survivors who join him on his journey and
help him uncover the truth about the origins of the Freakers and the mysterious
organization known as NERO.
As Deacon
travels across the Pacific Northwest, he must confront not only the Freakers,
but also other hostile human factions and dangerous wildlife. He must also
grapple with his own inner demons as he struggles to come to terms with the
loss of his wife and the guilt he feels for not being able to save her.
Throughout
the game, players will have to scavenge for resources, craft weapons and items,
and make choices that will affect the story and Deacon's relationships with
other characters. The game also features a dynamic weather and day-night cycle,
as well as a "dynamic narrative event system" that generates unique
encounters and events based on the player's actions and decisions.
